Fashion Shoot – Trine Eide

The Christmas holidays are over and we are going full steam ahead at school. First course of the new year is “Models in Studio”… in other words… fashion!

First task was a “group project” but with individual evaluation. We had 10 people in our group, and we had to organize models, stylists and styling  as a group. Our group did a great job at organizing, and I felt we worked very well together. I felt a bit guilty as one of our stylists (Tina) sadly didn’t have as much to do at the start as we had planned, but sorted it out by getting her to help Bjørn Christiansen with his model.

For right now I am just going to leave you with two shots from my 10-15 minutes with the model Trine Eide… I am quite pleased to say the least.

Classic Portraiture

As I mentioned yesterday, Bjørn and myself had a photoshoot at school, with 3 models, 2 stylists, 1 assistant and ourselves. It’s for an assignment we have been given which is to use the medium-format analogue cameras at school to take two classic portraits. In essence that means that the main light is a Rembrandt light, meaning that its 45 degrees off-axis between the camera and the model, and 45 degrees up (as in it points down…).Its also supposed to be either high-key or low-key style to the images.

Today, I developed the film, something that took considerably less time than I thought it would… put the film on the spool in the dark in a matter of a minute max, last time I think I spent a good 10 minutes in there fumbling about. I was nervous as heck while working with the chemicals… not because of the chemicals, I could care less about that, but because if I messed up, the images would be fucked and most of yesterdays work down the drain. But the negatives turned out to be great, a bit of dust/scratches… but great besides that  (and a couple of blown highlights…)

I’ll post the images that I have worked on here as they are readied…still a few to work on…

First model is Marie Folstad, one of the two twins that we had in, the other model is Tone Kvaale Jordal. Also included a behind the scenes shot of Marie having her makeup touched up by the fantastic Tina Larsen from H2 Akademiet.
